Our
History
From the beginning we were a group of friends and neighbors who wanted to spend a wonderful retirement together in Ames. Since our children were constantly moving around, we decided we would “stay put” in Ames. After all, our small university city offers a good life with the fine arts, parks, community activities, nearby shopping and medical facilities. We felt we had the best of all worlds right here!
Windsor Oaks’ ribbon cutting ceremony was in April 2000, and many community leaders from Ames and Gilbert turned out; it was quite a "family party." Since all the representatives had a vested interest, it was quite a “family party.” You see we are a new concept in fun and independent senior living age 55 and up. We offer numerous amenities plus many options. We are set up to meet the needs of today’s seniors. You'll see the difference when you come visit us!
